Hello,
I know this isn't the way you're supposed to do it, but I just don't think I have the nerve to tell you this to your face: I love you. I've been thinking about how to say that for <time> now, and I finally decided that I'd be a chicken and tell you in a letter. I hope you don't mind.
I think about you all the time now, and there's nothing I would rather do than spend time with you doing...anything. Sitting around talking, walking, going to a movie, it doesn't matter. I just thought you should know how I feel.
I hope you'll give me a call or something and let me know how you feel. I really hope that you share my feelings...and that you don't think I'm a complete coward for saying this in a letter. I'll see you soon, and remember...
...I love you.
Regards,
Jim Karter
